The first article on this website talked about the end of the flat-screen television. Why would someone buy a 70 inch 4k flat screen television for more than a thousand dollars when they can get a 90+ degree field of view, 4k VR experience? Right now people are cutting cable thanks to the invention of online streaming services like Netflix and Amazon. Within years people will be cutting television thanks to the advancement of virtual reality recording devices and headsets. VR Olympic streaming wouldn't be available if it didn't turn a profit. More and more events will be streamed in VR as the VR market keeps growing. The television is dying.

VR footage of the Olympics will be provided by the Intentional Olympics Committee's Olympic Broadcasting Services. VR owners will have to get the NBC app through the Oculus store if they want to watch the Olympics using their Oculus Rift or Gear VR. However footage from these sources will be off by one day.

The virtual reality
race is on.
